Dear members and friends of SC Eintracht Oberursel!
We hope that you have started well into the year 2023 and wish you that it takes a good and successful course for you!
For Nasrin Mehloul, Andrea Schneider, Josef Dreker and Wolfgang Borgfeld on the board, this year will be a special one:
We were newly elected to the association's leadership at our Annual General Meeting on 20 December 2022 - and would like to introduce ourselves briefly here.
The club has grown strongly in the last two years - against the general trend - especially in the youth football sector. We have around 780 members, almost 400 of them in youth football. In our football, table tennis, archery and gymnastics departments, we can rely on the commitment of a good 60 volunteer coaches and support staff.
We are currently facing three major challenges, which we would like to ask you, as a member, to support us in overcoming:
We have a wonderful clubhouse which should be open to our members and guests. In order to do so, we have to keep track of booking dates, coordinate handovers and keep an eye on the maintenance of the inventory. And, of course, the clubhouse should also be open for youth and senior home games as well as Champions League, Bundesliga and other interesting sporting events. If we don't succeed in finding a team to take over the management, we will no longer be able to open the clubhouse.
It is also conceivable that parents of youth teams could take over the responsibility on a rotational basis from weekend to weekend. In return, the team coffers can be improved.
If you can imagine helping out in the clubhouse from time to time, or coordinating the renting, handing over and taking back as part of a team, if you would like to offer a service once in a while for your or your child's team fund, or if you would simply like to rent the clubhouse for a party, then get in touch by emailing
The second challenge is the maintenance of our website www.eintracht-oberursel.de. We want to move it to a new, modern platform in the next few months. We need support for this as well as for the subsequent maintenance of the content. IT knowledge is NOT necessary! This task can also be carried out by several people - it is not easier to get to know Eintracht. If you can imagine supporting your club here, please contact Wolfgang Borgfeld (
The third challenge has now been met: We have been able to recruit a caretaker for the care and maintenance of the sports grounds on Eschbachweg: Kazim Küpeli, who works in this capacity at the neighbouring Eichwäldchen primary school, started work on 1 February. We employ him in the framework of a mini-job.
In order to be able to finance work like this, the Board had asked the members to agree to increase the fees in the football sections from 12 to 15 Euros. This was accepted and came into effect on 1.1. 2023.
We have bought three containers in which we will store sports equipment. These are to be set up between the grass pitch and the artificial turf pitch. On Saturday, 11 February, we want to demolish the barbecue hut for this purpose. We need helping hands for this! Anyone who can donate a few hours to Eintracht on 11 February from 10 am, please contact Josef Dreker (
Addition on 5 February, 2023:
Melake "Mel" Kefela is nominated as Coach of the Year 2022! Mel has been with SC Eintracht since 1986. Coached by Erich Kappus and Sebastian Schindlbeck, Mel played in the B-youth football team. Since 2009 Mel has been a youth coach at Eschbachweg in Oberursel, currently coaching the E2.
Now Mel has been nominated by the Taunus Zeitung as coach of the year 2022! Congratulations and fingers crossed that Mel collects so many votes that he then also receives the award!!! Here you can find an overview of all nominated athletes and coaches and cast your vote for Mel!
Mel's nomination is partly due to his commitment in Kenya. Graham Tappenden wrote the story for the Oberursel Week in the spring of 2022, and we have reprinted it in our 51st Whitsun Tournament booklet on page 64.
Eintracht only functions when its members are committed to the club.
In this sense, we as newly elected board members hope for your support!
Nasrin Mehloul came to Eintracht through her little brother, who has played for the club since 2012.
She is studying economics at Goethe University, has been coaching the G-youth since October 2021 and has been the coach of the A-youth since autumn 2022. Nasrin succeeds Udo Peschke as treasurer, who after six years had announced his resignation on 21 September, effective 30 September, and did not stand for re-election.
Andrea Schneider has been associated with Eintracht through her son since 2019.
She currently organises "everything" to do with football in the E2 - sales at games and tournaments, planning and hosting Christmas and end-of-season parties. Andrea is on the pitch a lot and always has an open ear for parents, players and coaches. She succeeds
Secretary Heike Heilmann, who had declared at the time of her election in 2020 that her third term would also be her last.
Josef Dreker has been a member of SC Eintracht since 2016.
He has been on duty as court cashier at the seniors' home games on Eschbachweg since 2017. Josef takes on leadership responsibility in the new board as 2nd chairman.
The new 1st chairman is Wolfgang "wobo" Borgfeld, who takes over from Uwe Krailing.
Like Heike, Uwe had announced in 2020 that he would not stand for re-election in 2022 after six years. Wolfgang has been with the association since 1967 and has been on the board as 2nd chairman since 2020.
We will do everything we can to maintain and improve the framework conditions for practising our respective sports.
But we need your support for this!
Therefore: If you would like to get involved in communication for the club (keyword website), if you would like to support us in renting out the clubhouse, if you would like to contribute to the economic performance of the club with bar services at Champions League, Bundesliga or home games of the youth and seniors - please contact us, the department management or the coaches!
In this spirit, with sporting greetings, on behalf of the Executive Committee
Wolfgang Borgfeld
